Soil Testing at McGolrick Park

North Brooklyn Neighbors will be participating in the Fall Fest at McGolrick Park put on by the Friends of McGolrick Park on Saturday, November 4 from 10 am to noon. We will be using our new XRF machine to offer free soil testing. Bring a sample of your soil in a clear, plastic sandwich bag with about 2 cups of soil. We will use our machine to test the heavy metal (i.e. lead) content of your soil and results will be available immediately. Information on safely dealing with high levels of lead in soil will be available in English, Polish, and Spanish. No registration required.

We will also chat with neighbors about the Meeker Avenue Plume Superfund site and the importance of testing your indoor air if your home is within the footprint of the EPA investigation area.
