Soil Testing at WYNC Transmitter Park

In collaboration with the Friends of WNYC Transmitter Park, North Brooklyn Neighbors will be offering soil testing at Transmitter Park on Sunday, May 5 from 10 am to noon. Come on out for the First Gardening Sunday and to learn about soil contamination issues in North Brooklyn. We will be using our XRF machine to offer free soil testing of the heavy metal (i.e. lead) content of your soil and results will be available immediately. Bring a sample of your soil in a new, clear, plastic sandwich bag with about 2 cups of soil. Information on safely dealing with high levels of lead in soil will be available in English, Polish, and Spanish. No registration required.
