North Brooklyn Bag Swap

Beginning March 1, 2020, plastic bags will be banned at most stores in New York State. To help ensure that Greenpoint and Williamsburg are prepared for this change, NBN is organizing a reusable bag drive. During the drive NBN will collect unneeded reusable shopping bags and various locations in the community. Donated bags will be redistributed to residents who may not be prepared for the new regulation.  

Bags should be new or gently used and clean. NBN has partnered with local institutions to host drop-off bins. We are also partnering with several schools including PS 110 – The Monitor School, PS 31 – Samuel F. Dupont School, PS 34 – Oliver H. Perry Elementary, Brooklyn Arbor School, and the Williamsburg Northside School to collect bags (check with your school’s parent association for donation details).
